SYNOPSIS

Simone is a young law student who finds a passion for defending women in abuse cases. Yet her own sexual interests lead her to a world of violence and eroticism.

 

DIRECTOR’S BIO

Julia Murat was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1979. She graduated from the Rio de Janeiro Federal University in graphic design and at the Darcy Ribeiro Film School as a screenwriter. Julia has made short-films, experimental videos, commercials and video-installations. She also has a long time experience working as an editor, producer, assistant director, and camera assistant. Her most recent fiction film PENDULAR (2017) won the FIPRECI Prize in Panorama at the Berlinale and was selected by several festivals around the world. Her debut fiction film FOUND MEMORIES (2011) premiered at Venice, was selected by Toronto, Rotterdam, San Sebastian, and won 39 international prizes, including Best Film at Abu Dhabi, Sofia and Lima. Her feature documentary DIA DOS PAIS premiered at Cinéma du Reel in 2008, and OPERATIONS FOR THE GUARANTEE OF LAW AND ORDER (2017) premiered at Brasilia Film Festival. Julia also co-produced the Paraguayan film THE HEIRESSES (2018), by Marcelo Martinesi, which won the Silver Bear for Best Actress as well as the Alfred Bauer and the FIPRESCI Perizes in the Berlinale Competition. Julia co-wrote SHINE YOUR EYES, by Matias Mariani, Berlinale 2020.
