A FEBRE (THE FEVER)

SYNOPSIS

Justino, a 45-year-old Desana native, is a security guard at the Manaus harbor. As his daughter prepares to study medicine in Brasilia, Justino is taken over by a mysterious fever.

DIRECTOR’S BIO

Maya Da­Rin is a Brazilian filmmaker and visual artist. Graduated at Le Fresnoy, she has a master degree in Cinema and Art History at Sorbonne Nouvelle and attended film workshops at the Cuban Film School. Her work has been shown at numerous film festivals and art institutions such as Locarno, MoMA and New Museum. Her documentary Lands (2010), took part in more than 40 film festivals and her first feature film project, The Fever, was invited to Cinéfondation, La Fabrique and TorinoFilmLab and will have its World Premiere in Locarno’s International Competition.
